Transport

UPDATES:

UPDATES: 12th November 2024 (Diamond Buses)

Diamond Buses advised at the end of last week that due to issues of students boarding without passes they would be refusing travel from Monday 11th November if a student was unable to present a valid pass - this was communicated to all students, and parents of students, that have passes for the route 1 and 802 services on Friday 8th November.  This action is designed to ensure safe travel to and from the academy.

Passes are assigned by Staffordshire School Transport to balance numbers so it's important that if a student is issued a pass for a particular service that they board that bus to prevent overcrowding and passengers standing.  Parents can apply directly to Staffordshire School Transport if they wish to change the service that they have been assigned to.  The contact email is Student.transport@staffordshire.gov.uk

Staffordshire School Transport have confirmed that, as public bus services, passengers can board either bus and pay a fare, via cash, card or via the app.

Diamond Bus have confirmed that they have a number of new drivers as they have increased capacity to avoid the late issues experienced at the start of the academic year and this may be the reason for some confusion yesterday.  This will be clarified with them immediately.

If a student has misplaced their pass you can apply for a replacement here: https://apps2.staffordshire.gov.uk/web/onlineorder/default.aspx?FormID=13

A temporary pass can be obtained from either reception in the short term while waiting for the new one to arrive.

The eligibility for a school bus pass sits with Staffordshire County Council, not the Academy, and is based on a distance from school criteria.  Eligibility can be checked using the following: https://apps2.staffordshire.gov.uk/scc/schoolroutes/

UPDATES: 9th May 2022

We are encouraging pupils and parents to take part in Walk to School Week, promoted by Staffordshire Country Council, week commencing 16 May 2022. Walking is a healthy, active and non-polluting way of getting to and from school. For those families that live too far to walk all of the way, try parking 5-10 minutes from the school and walk the rest of the way. Walking also contributes to a less congested environment around the school gates making it safer for everyone.
