National Careers Challenge
On Wednesday 17th January 29024, the two Year 10 (now Year 11) teams who were successful at last years National Careers Challenge (coming first and second) were invited to attend a lunchtime reception at the launch of this years competition. Hosted at the House of Lords, it was an incredible opportunity for the students to network with Education Directors, Managing Directors and CEOs of blue chip companies as well as Government civil servants.
The competition was launched by Baroness Morgan of Cotes and representatives from JCB, Natwest, Airbus and the engineering company AtkinsRéalis talked about their sponsorship of this year's challenges.
Our Careers Leader Sally Land was then invited to speak about the academy and our experiences of working on the Challenge. Representatives of both teams, Dom Taylor and Max Limbert then gave their insights on what the Challenge meant to them. Both students did an incredible job, giving confident speeches about their experience and the skills they had developed.
All in all, a hugely successful day for the academy and the winning teams.
